DO Magazine

I collaborated with the DO Magazine team to create engaging layouts and visual content for this collection of coloring, tangling, crafting, and doodling publications. My role included researching and crafting featured projects, art directing on-site photography and step-by-step imagery, designing layouts, and directing other designers. This project was a favorite of mine, allowing me to combine hands-on creativity, design, and art direction to create an inspiring and cohesive reader experience.

Over several years, I collaborated with Demme Learning’s design and content teams to develop the layouts for both the Algebra 1: Principles of Secondary Mathematics Student Worktext and Instructor Handbook. I created clear, engaging page layouts that supported complex mathematical concepts, guided students through problem-solving exercises, and organized instructor resources and solutions for easy reference. The resulting materials have supported hundreds of students in developing and mastering foundational Algebra 1 concepts.

Student Worktext

Instructor Handbook

I redesigned Infinito’s Pizza Buffet’s crew training manual to align with the company’s refreshed brand identity while making training materials clearer and easier to follow. I developed the layout, updated instructional content, photographed and edited step-by-step process and product photography to visually guide employees through each crew position and procedure.

I designed the layouts for Fox Chapel Publishing’s Bigfoot seek-and-find book series, creating engaging scenes where readers search for Bigfoot alongside more than 500 characters and objects. My responsibilities included converting the author’s illustrations into vector artwork, researching educational content, sourcing stock photography for accompanying fun facts, and developing the page layouts to balance interactive elements with informative content.

Susquehanna Photographic Photo Packages

I designed a promotional brochure for The Susquehanna Photographic to showcase their wedding photography packages and help clients choose the options best suited to their needs. Using the company’s existing wedding photography, I created a polished, image-driven layout that presented package information clearly while allowing the photography to remain the visual focus. This project demonstrates my approach to brochure layout, typography, visual hierarchy, and print design.

Infinito’s Pizza Buffet wanted to increase community fundraising partnerships across its eight Pennsylvania locations to generate additional revenue while strengthening relationships with local schools, nonprofits, and community organizations. I developed a fully integrated marketing campaign centered around the playful slogan “Let’s Raise Some Dough,” using the double meaning of raising money and pizza dough to create a memorable and approachable campaign identity.

The campaign was designed to educate organizations on how the fundraising program worked while encouraging participation through consistent messaging across both digital and in-store marketing channels.

The Challenge

Unlike a typical promotional campaign, this initiative required balancing educational content with engaging visuals. Potential fundraising partners needed enough information to understand the process without overwhelming them with text.

To address this, I created a cohesive visual campaign that paired concise messaging with appetizing pizza photography, community-focused imagery, and branded graphics. Every touchpoint reinforced the “Let’s Raise Some Dough” concept while clearly explaining how organizations could host fundraising events with Infinito’s.

The campaign included:

  • In-store promotional signage
  • Social media graphics
  • Email marketing campaigns
  • Printed flyers
  • Website graphics and informational content
  • Consistent campaign branding across all customer touchpoints

By maintaining a unified visual identity, the campaign helped create a recognizable and approachable fundraising program that was easy for customers and organizations to understand.

The Result

The campaign generated interest and engagement across digital and in-store channels while increasing awareness of Infinito’s fundraising program. Shortly after launch, however, the COVID-19 pandemic significantly affected restaurants and community events, limiting opportunities for organizations to host fundraisers and making long-term performance metrics unavailable.

Despite these challenges, the project demonstrated the value of a concept-driven marketing campaign that combined strategic messaging, cohesive branding, and multi-channel execution to communicate a complex offering in an accessible and engaging way.

Infinito’s Pizza Buffet, an eight-location restaurant chain across Pennsylvania, needed to recruit employees for a variety of front-line and management positions. I developed a cohesive, multi-channel hiring campaign designed to increase visibility, showcase the company culture, and simplify the application process for prospective employees. The campaign combined digital marketing, social media, print collateral, in-store promotions, and environmental graphics to reach job seekers wherever they encountered the brand.

The Challenge

Restaurant hiring is highly competitive, particularly when recruiting younger employees for entry-level and management roles. The campaign needed to differentiate Infinito’s from other employers by highlighting the workplace culture, career growth opportunities, and employee experience rather than relying on traditional “Now Hiring” messaging.

To create a more authentic connection with potential applicants, I focused on employee-driven storytelling. I interviewed current managers about their career paths and created short social media videos featuring their success stories. Marketing materials also highlighted employees enjoying their work environment, reinforcing the company’s team-oriented culture.

The campaign extended across multiple customer touchpoints, including:

  • Social media graphics and video content
  • Email marketing campaigns
  • Large storefront window decals visible from the street
  • In-store hiring displays with balloons and printed applications
  • Tabletop promotional cards encouraging guests to apply
  • Online application opportunities through the company website

Together, these elements created a consistent hiring experience across all eight restaurant locations while making it as easy as possible for interested candidates to apply.

The Results

The campaign successfully generated interest across both digital and physical channels, with social media content receiving several thousand engagements and producing new job applicants. While the campaign was gaining momentum, the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic significantly disrupted hiring efforts across the restaurant industry, making long-term recruitment metrics unavailable.

Despite these circumstances, the project demonstrated the effectiveness of combining authentic employee stories, multi-channel marketing, and consistent visual branding to increase awareness and encourage applications. It also established a repeatable recruitment campaign framework that could be adapted for future hiring initiatives.

To encourage repeat visits and create excitement around the brand, Infinito’s Pizza Buffet introduced a Limited Time Only (LTO) pizza program featuring exclusive specialty pizzas available for a short period each quarter. I developed the marketing campaign supporting each launch, creating seasonal promotions that built anticipation before release and maintained consistent messaging throughout each promotion.

The campaign combined digital and in-store marketing to showcase each featured pizza while reinforcing the limited-time nature of the offering.

The Challenge

The primary objective was to increase customer return visits by giving guests a new reason to visit throughout the year. Because buffet menus are generally consistent, the campaign needed to create excitement around temporary menu additions while encouraging customers to experience them before they were gone.

To support this goal, I developed seasonal marketing campaigns around each featured pizza, aligning some flavors with holidays and seasonal themes such as Pumpkin Spice for the fall, Pulled Pork for the summer, Spinach and Artichoke around St. Patrick’s Day, and Chocolate Cherry for Valentine’s Day. Each campaign emphasized visuals, exclusivity, and urgency while maintaining Infinito’s playful, family-friendly brand.

Marketing materials included:

  • In-store promotional signage
  • Social media graphics and teaser campaigns
  • Email marketing campaigns
  • Seasonal promotional branding
  • Launch announcements and countdown content

Social media teasers were released several weeks before each launch to build anticipation, while restaurant locations prominently featured the specialty pizzas throughout the promotional period. Customer feedback was actively monitored through social media conversations and website feedback forms to better understand audience preferences and guide future menu concepts.

The Result

The campaign successfully generated excitement around each product launch and encouraged customer engagement through teaser content and seasonal promotions. Guests actively shared feedback on social media and through the company’s website, providing valuable insight into customer preferences and helping shape future limited-time offerings.

Although the campaign showed positive early engagement, the COVID-19 pandemic disrupted normal restaurant operations before long-term business metrics could be evaluated. Even so, the project demonstrated how strategic product marketing, seasonal storytelling, and integrated campaign planning can transform routine menu updates into engaging customer experiences that encourage repeat visits.

Infinito’s Pizza Buffet sought to modernize its brand to better connect with a younger generation of customers while creating a more cohesive experience across its eight Pennsylvania locations. As the lead designer, I developed a comprehensive visual identity refresh that extended across digital platforms, in-store environments, marketing materials, and employee resources to create a consistent and recognizable brand experience.

The Challenge

The existing brand lacked consistency across customer and employee touchpoints and no longer reflected the modern, family-friendly experience the company wanted to convey. The refresh needed to appeal to a younger audience while preserving the recognizable identity that existing customers associated with the brand.

Working closely with company leadership and external partners, I established a refreshed visual identity and implemented it across nearly every aspect of the business. My responsibilities included:

  • Establishing updated typography and visual standards
  • Designing new employee uniforms
  • Collaborating with external web developers on a redesigned public website
  • Photographing the restaurant’s menu items and editing new product photography for use across social media, online menus, and other digital marketing materials
  • Designing a new employee intranet
  • Creating new in-store signage, including menu boards, hanging signs, window decals, tabletop displays, pizza labels, and TV graphics
  • Redesigning carry-out menus and take-out packaging
  • Designing a logo and visual identity for the company’s new email rewards program
  • Establishing an email marketing program with reusable templates
  • Creating new graphics and branded assets for social media and digital platforms

By applying the refreshed identity consistently across physical and digital experiences, the project delivered a unified brand presence for both customers and employees.

The Result

The rebranding initiative successfully established a modern visual identity that was implemented across the company’s restaurants, websites, marketing materials, employee communications, and customer loyalty program. The project created a cohesive design system that strengthened brand consistency across every customer touchpoint and provided reusable assets that supported future marketing efforts.

Although the long-term impact of the rebrand could not be fully measured due to the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, the project successfully positioned the company with a refreshed brand identity and scalable design assets that could support future growth and ongoing marketing initiatives.

Packaging & Print

The Pie Shop was a small York, Pennsylvania business that needed a visual identity to establish its brand and create a professional, recognizable presence at the local York Market. I worked directly with the owner to develop the brand from the ground up, creating a cohesive identity that could be applied across packaging, printed materials, and the owner’s customer-facing appearance.

The Challenge

The Pie Shop had no established logo or visual identity, so the goal was to create a recognizable brand that felt appropriate for a small, locally owned food business while remaining practical for everyday use.

The Process

This was one of my first professional identity projects, created as an opportunity to develop a complete brand system for a small local business. I approached and worked directly with the owner to develop the initial identity and determine how the brand would appear across different customer touchpoints. The resulting system included a logo along with coordinated applications for both printed materials and the physical market experience.

The Result

The project established The Pie Shop’s first cohesive visual identity and gave the business a consistent presence across its packaging, printed materials, and customer interactions. Although there are no measurable performance results available, the branding provided the foundation for the business’s visual presence during its years operating at the York Market.

The Mid-Atlantic Quidditch region needed a visual identity. I entered a logo design competition and was selected as the winning designer. The resulting identity was used throughout the region and applied to a 2012 Mid-Atlantic Quidditch Regional Tournament’s promotional materials, website, merchandise, and team apparel for the event in Roanoke, Virginia.

The Challenge

The Mid-Atlantic region was newly established to accommodate the growing number of teams. The logo needed to function as a recognizable identity for a regional sporting event while remaining versatile enough to work across both digital and physical applications. After winning the design competition, I worked with regional leadership to adapted the logo for a variety of tournament materials and promotional uses creating a cohesive visual experience around the new identity.

The identity was applied to:

  • Uniform patches
  • Flags
  • Hoodies
  • T-shirts
  • Posters
  • Tournament website
  • Other event memorabilia

The Result

The tournament successfully hosted 21 teams in Roanoke, Virginia, with the winning logo serving as the central visual identity across the event’s promotional materials, website, merchandise, and team apparel. The project demonstrated the ability to develop a flexible identity that could translate consistently across both digital and physical applications.

Instagram Contest

To grow Infinito’s newly established Instagram presence, I created an in-store contest encouraging customers to post photos with their pizza and follow the brand for a chance to win a gift card and branded pizza cutter. The campaign was an immediate success, organically growing the account by several hundred followers and generating user-created content.

Pizza Madness Facebook Engagement Campaign

I created “Pizza Madness,” a series of interactive Facebook polls inspired by March Madness to drive fun, organic engagement. The campaign quickly gained popularity, generating 6,000+ organic impressions and helping grow Infinito’s Facebook audience.

To launch the Quidditch team I established at Kutztown University, I created a series of promotional posters designed to generate excitement and recruit students to the new team. The campaign successfully captured students’ attention, attracting more than 100 sign-ups on the first day and helping establish the team as a successful new campus organization.

Demme Learning redesigned its Algebra 2 curriculum as a fully digital learning experience, transitioning from traditional printed books to an interactive online platform. As a Design Systems Specialist, I helped design the learning experience, develop production workflows, and create scalable processes that enabled the curriculum to be efficiently built and maintained across WordPress, LearnDash, and InDesign.

The Challenge

Moving from print to digital introduced new production and technical challenges. Content was authored in Google Docs, but there was no established workflow for transferring text, mathematical equations, and instructional materials into WordPress and InDesign while keeping them editable. At the same time, the company needed an engaging online learning experience that could support students and instructors while laying the foundation for future digital curriculum.

To help bridge these gaps, I took initiative and helped define the overall experience by:

  • Researching and implementing new production tools and workflows
  • Reducing InDesign production time by approximately 80%
  • Authoring documentation for importing Google Docs into WordPress while preserving editable mathematical content
  • Working alongside the Instructional Designer to create LearnDash prototypes that established the structure and user experience for the curriculum
  • Collaborating with a contracted web development team as they transformed the prototypes into reusable LearnDash templates for future upper-level math courses

The Process

Before any design work began, I researched potential production workflows to support the transition from print to digital curriculum. Using Lucidchart, I mapped three possible production pipelines, comparing different tools and handoff processes across Product Development. After presenting the options, the team selected a workflow that balanced production efficiency, collaboration, and long-term scalability.

With the workflow established, I began designing the learning experience by creating WordPress prototypes and developing InDesign lesson templates to define the visual style and instructional layout. Working closely with the Instructional Designer, Subject Matter Expert (SME), Content Writer, and Multimedia Designer, I refined the experience through bi-weekly project reviews, ensuring the curriculum met both educational objectives and usability standards.

As the project evolved, I identified opportunities to improve communication between Design, Instructional Design, and Web Development. I researched collaboration platforms and introduced MarkUp.io as a centralized review tool for WordPress feedback, making it easier for stakeholders to annotate pages and streamline approvals. I also adopted Figma to create interactive page prototypes, improving collaboration with the contracted web development team and providing clearer design specifications for implementation.

To support future curriculum development, I documented the complete production workflow in a comprehensive how-to guide and created an online style guide that established reusable design standards, content formatting, and implementation guidelines. These resources enabled Design, Instructional Design, Marketing, and Development teams to build future digital courses using a consistent, repeatable process while significantly reducing onboarding and production time.

The Result

The project established a scalable production workflow that significantly reduced design time while creating a repeatable framework for future digital curriculum development. The documented processes and LearnDash templates enabled future courses to be built more efficiently and provided a consistent learning experience across the product line.

The Algebra 2 platform launched shortly before my departure from Demme Learning, so long-term customer metrics were not yet available. However, the project successfully delivered the company’s first production-ready workflow for developing interactive upper-level math curriculum, combining instructional design, reusable templates, and streamlined content management into a sustainable digital publishing process.

Demme Learning redesigned its custom online learning platform to create a more scalable, user-friendly WordPress experience that could be maintained by multiple teams. As a Design Systems Specialist, I collaborated with my Design Manager and cross-functional stakeholders to design the platform’s structure, user experience, and visual system before guiding implementation through design reviews and documentation.

The Challenge

The existing platform presented both technical and operational challenges. Because the site relied on custom development, routine updates required developer involvement, limiting the organization’s ability to quickly publish new content or make improvements. The redesign needed to balance long-term maintainability with a user experience that supported a diverse audience of educators, parents, and students.

Working alongside my Design Manager, I helped define the overall experience by:

  • Designing the initial visual direction and user interface
  • Collaborating with Product Development and Marketing leadership to determine the site’s structure, navigation, and key functionality
  • Adopted Figma to create a shared design workflow with front-end developers, improving communication, streamlining design reviews, and ensuring accurate implementation of the design system.
  • Serving as a design reviewer throughout development to ensure the implementation remained aligned with the original vision
  • Establishing consistent digital assets and visual standards across the platform
  • Creating a comprehensive online style guide after launch to support long-term consistency and future development

To reduce risk during the transition, the new WordPress platform launched as Early Access, allowing customers to explore the redesigned experience while retaining access to the legacy platform. This phased rollout provided valuable customer feedback while giving internal teams additional time to migrate remaining content and refine the new experience.

The process

Design, Product Development, Marketing, and Web Development’s initial collaboration efforts began with my early mockups in Adobe Acrobat and weekly meetings to define the site’s structure, navigation, and goals.

These mockups were handed off to a front end web developer who further refined the designs in Figma. We then adopted Figma as a shared design workflow, improving communication, and streamlining design reviews.

The Result

The redesign established a scalable foundation that empowered multiple teams to manage website content without relying on custom development for everyday updates. The collaborative design process also strengthened communication between Design, Product Development, Marketing, and Web Development through shared workflows and a documented design system.

Following the Early Access launch, customer adoption steadily increased as more users transitioned to the new platform while engagement with the legacy site declined. Although I moved on from the company before the full migration was complete, the project successfully delivered a maintainable platform, improved cross-functional collaboration, and a reusable design system to support future product growth.
